EWM Picotig 220 puls DC 5P Inverter TIG Welding machine 230v/110v

Modular, Durable, and Professional-Grade Welding Performance

The EWM Picotig 220 puls 5P is a Multi Voltage gas cooled power source. This DC inverter TIG welder is portable, high-performance welding solution for professionals who demand reliability and precision. The Picotig 220 is a 230v/110v welder, designed for both workshop and on-site applications. This robust TIG welding machine combines advanced technology, energy efficiency features, and user-friendly to deliver outstanding results.  Provides a Wide Current Range, adjustable from 5 A to 220 A (230v), covering a variety of applications. Capable of stick welding using electrodes up to 4mm.

Compact dimensions ( 454 mm x 165 mm x 321 mm) and a lightweight design (10 kg) with a shoulder strap for easy transport.  The IP23-Rated Protective casing resists water spray, ensuring reliable performance in outdoor or harsh environments.

The EWM Picotig 220 DC puls is generator ready. The welder will operate with long mains leads and generators up to 6.6 kVA, thanks to wide mains voltage tolerances (-40% to +15%).

Multi-Voltage

multi-volt TIG welder offers compatibility with multiple input voltages, either 110V or 230V, for greater flexibility in various work environments. This feature enhances its versatility for use with different power inputs. This adaptability ensures reliable performance whether you’re working with standard household outlets or industrial power supplies, whether on a UK domestic supply or abroad.

Picotig 220 DC with PFC Module

PFC module (Power Factor Correction) in a TIG welder improves efficiency by aligning voltage and current, reducing power losses, and stabilising input voltage. It minimises energy consumption, and allows the welder to operate on standard circuits, even with fluctuating power. This results in more consistent weld quality, reduced heat generation, and longer equipment lifespan.

Pulsed Welding

Pulse functionality is perfect for specialised applications that require exceptional precision and control.  Pulsed welding alternates between high and low current levels, reducing overall heat input. This is particularly useful for thin or heat sensitive materials such as aluminium. Other benefits include minimised spatter and a better aesthetic finish.

5P

TIG welding machines are equipped with a dedicated connection socket for the welding torch control cable. On this Picotig 220 DC puls 5P, the connection has 5 poles. A 5 Pole TIG torch is standard connection that provides enhanced control and functionality, enabling advanced torch features like remote amperage adjustment and pulsing. It ensures reliable signal transmission, simplifies setup, and is durable for demanding applications. The torch can be be used to access a reduced secondary current accessible using torch trigger.

Electronic HF

Electronic HF (High-Frequency) start in TIG welding uses a controlled high-frequency electrical arc to initiate the weld without contact between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece. This ensures precise arc ignition, reducing tungsten contamination and wear, and is ideal for clean, high-quality welds.

Latched/Non Latched Function

Using Latched Operation,  the welder activates the torch by pressing the switch once and the welding process continues until the switch is pressed again. This mode reduces hand fatigue during longer welds.

Using Non-Latched Operation, the welder must hold the switch down continuously to keep the arc active. Releasing the switch immediately stops the welding process, offering greater control for shorter or intricate welds.

Adjustable Up-slope and Down-Slope

Adjustable up-slope and down-slope times in TIG welding control how smoothly the current increases at the start and decreases at the end of a weld. Up-slope prevents sudden heat spikes, reducing the risk of material damage or defects. Down-slope avoids abrupt cooling, which can cause craters or cracks in the weld pool. These features improve weld quality, making them ideal for delicate or intricate welding tasks.
